Billionaire businessman Elon Musk seems to shake the world agenda once again with the Neuralink project, after Tesla and SpaceX. Allegedly, Elon Musk will try to implant Neuralink chips, his new project, into the human brain by the end of the year.
The brain chip project, which was recently tested on a monkey and was successful, will now be tested on a human. As part of the Neuralink project, which they aim to complete human experiments successfully by the end of the year, people with many brain and nervous disorders will be helped.
In the video shared by Neuralink a few days ago, 9-year-old monkey Pager was able to play the video game "Pong" with the power of his mind due to the chip in his brain. The billionaire entrepreneur said in a statement in February that they were planning to start human tests by the end of the year.
According to Elon Musk's claim, this chip can help even paralyzed patients in the future. In his reply to a follower who stated that he had been paralyzed for 20 years, Musk included the following statements;
'Neuralink works hard to ensure that the implant is safe and is in close contact with the US Food and Drug Administration. If things go well, we can start working on people later this year.'
Elon Musk has repeatedly claimed that diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's can be treated with this technology.
With this project, Musk also aims to enable people with disabilities to use technological devices such as computers and smartphones through thinking. Sharing on his Twitter account on April 9, Musk said, "First Neuralink product will enable someone with paralysis to use a smartphone with their mind faster than someone using thumbs.".
In August last year, Elon Musk shared images of the device being tested on a pig at the introduction of Neuralink.
