NVIDIA has accelerated its work on the Drive Atlan chip it will produce for cars. While explaining the features of the new chip to be produced, it was stated that it would have the potential to perform one quadrillion operations per second. According to NVIDIA's plans, the new chip Atlan will be launched with 2025 model vehicles.

   NVIDIA had previously entered the business of chip production for automobiles and the first to be produced in this business; The NVIDIA Orin chip can be used in cars that will be produced next year.

   The company has not shared much details and information about the new chipset so far. However, according to the company's statements, Atlan, which will be produced according to the next generation GPU architecture, will have new ARM CPU cores. It is stated that Drive Atlan will be 4 times stronger than Orin, which will be released next year. While the Drive chip Orin can complete 254 trillion transactions per second, Atlan is said to be capable of 1 quadrillion transactions.

   In addition, NVIDIA says the new chip includes the BlueField data processing unit, which will help it complete the complex AI workloads required to enable autonomous vehicles. NVIDIA claims that the Atlan can handle more than 1,000 trillion transactions per second, while predicting that the different parts will come together in a chip that will provide data center-like performance.

   All this power will allow automakers to create 'software defined' vehicles that can be upgraded forever with the help of OTA updates, according to NVIDIA.
To facilitate these updates, Atlan will also use the same CUDA and TensorRT APIs and libraries as existing Drive chips.
